The Surrey Education Business Partnership (EBP) is part of the Surrey SATRO.  Since April 1998, the EBP has been contracted by the Learning and Skills Council to provide high quality education business partnership activities across Surrey.
 
Working closely with organizations from the private, public and voluntary sector, the EBP offers a variety of carefully designed programmes to support teachers in their role to raise achievement and to equip students with the skills and knowledge to prepare them for working life.
The programmes include:
 
  • The Surrey Schools Mentoring Programme – one to one mentoring of 14 -16 year old school students by adults from the business community to help the students reach their full potential 
  • Professional Development Placements for Teachers – designed to meet the needs of head teachers, teachers and key administrative personnel by providing placements in industry to advance skills and the adoption of current learning and good practice 
  • Curriculum support – a number of programmes are available through all phases to both support specific curriculum areas, such as citizenship, and to develop student’s core skills 
  • Construction – various programmes designed to prepare young people for the world of work, increase their motivation and attendance, at the same time as stimulating an interest in the construction industry 
  • VIEW (Virtual Interactive Employer’s Workplace) – part of this project will provide a CD–room designed to support the new applied GCSEs.  It will offer young people access to a range of virtual workplaces so removing some of the barriers to education business links
