Extended Work Experience
Target Group: Secondary age students (Year groups 10 & 11)

The Trident Trust Surrey organise in excess of 550 extended placements each year, through referral from over 50 schools.

The students on extended placements are those who would benefit from vocational learning within the workplace as part of their pre-16 courses. These extended placements range from 1-3 days in the workplace, depending on the student’s age and ability.

Health & Safety visits are carried out in line with LSC guidelines, but high risk companies are visited every three months, medium risk every six months and low risk every nine months.

Students, schools and employers can select a suitable project from a Portfolio of Projects which can be undertaken during the placement.

As well as acting as a valuable tool for the employer, students may also be able to gain accreditation for their work.

  • OCN accreditation
  • ESF funded mentoring for a targetted group of students
